Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim

A new and complete translation of De Occulta Philosophia from the Latin 1533 edition.

This set brings together all four volumes of Agrippa’s De Occulta Philosophia, carefully translated and introduced by Paul Summers Young. Each volume includes a detailed index.

Volume I — Natural Magic
Volume II — Celestial Magic
Volume III — Ceremonial Magic
Volume IV — The Fourth Book & Selected Writings

Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa’s De Occulta Philosophia is one of the foundational works of Western occult philosophy. First published in its complete form in 1533, it brings together natural magic, astrology and celestial influences, ceremonial practice, theology, philosophy, and the occult properties of the natural world.

This new translation from the original Latin presents Agrippa’s work for a contemporary readership while preserving the scope and complexity of the original text.

The first three volumes comprise Agrippa’s Three Books of Occult Philosophy. The fourth volume contains the apocryphal Fourth Book of Occult Philosophy, together with selected magical writings written by or historically attributed to Agrippa.
