Le Petit Albert

Le Petit Albert epitomized the Bibliothèque Bleue grimoires, emerging suddenly in the early 18th century, facing immediate censorship, and spreading through France via itinerant booksellers. Our edition showcases its insight into everyday life, blending folk wisdom with Paracelsan magic, featuring iconic elements like the Hand of Glory and the Mandrake. It became a cornerstone of sorcery in French colonies and remains vital in New World magic. Based on the 1752 'Lyon' edition, it forms the stable foundation for subsequent versions.

Enchiridion Leonis Papae

Marie Bosse, arrested in Paris in January 1679, possessed a copy of the Enchiridion Leonis Papae, known for its association with black magic during the 'Affair of the Poisons' and 19th-century occultism. Dating back to 1633, it blends folk belief with Church tradition, blurring religious and sorcery lines. Our new edition, translated into Modern English from French and Latin, provides prayers, exorcisms, and insights into its historical use.

Pseudomonarchia Daemonum

In 1577, Johann Weyer added Pseudomonarchia Daemonum to his critique of witchcraft, De Praestigiis Daemonum. Reginald Scot's translation in Discoverie of Witchcraft (1584) gave it unexpected longevity. Our edition offers the original Latin with a new English translation by Paul Summers Young, alongside contextual notes. We include Scot's translation and a new one of the French Livre des Esperitz. Weyer's text, a fantasy of spirits, has influenced occultists and stands as a captivating work in its own right.

The Black Pullet

A.E. Waite dismissed The Black Pullet as likely the creation of mischievous priests in Rome. Rooted in France's Egyptomania of the 1820s, it blends magical instruction with orientalist fantasy, akin to Kircher’s Hermetic Egyptology. Our new edition features the famed talismans from the 1820 edition, including instructions for the 'Black Hen' and the 'Black Owl'. It integrates content from three variant editions and excerpts from its literary inspiration, 'Le Comte de Gabalis'.

The Red Dragon

The Red Dragon, also called "The Grand Grimoire," is a notorious black magic book believed to have originated in the early 19th century. It provides instructions for summoning Lucifuge Rofocale and making a Deal with the Devil. Divided into two sections, the first guides summoning demons and crafting control tools, while the second delves deeper into magic. This faithful English translation reveals various spells and rituals, including methods for forming pacts and simpler spells.
